Let me tell you a little about myself. As you can see I'm a rather magnificent long haired chap with ginger and white fluff. I've got 'lion paws' (as Mum calls them) and large fluffy ears. I've also got a magnificent fluffy tail which looked like a baby fox tail when I was a baby. I've got a white patch on the centre of my back - Mum says that when I was being painted they missed a bit with the orange brush! My ears are edged with white fluff, giving me a rather distinguished look, and they have what Mum calls 'Lynx' tips.

Arriving at Mum's was very scary at first, as I'd had a bit of a bad time, but Mabel helped me get through it (you can read about how I came to be adopted in Adopting Mungo). Mabel and I are now best pals, although she doesn't admit to it too often, and we're usually not far away from each other. I've listed my favourite hobbies for you below, but I only have time for them while Mum's at work. You see, I have a very important job - I'm the man of the house and it's my job to keep the girls in order and protect the house.

My duties involve:

  Bouncing around the living room and garden like a mad thing, all bushy tailed and bright eyed to make Mum laugh.

  Being at home, or very near by, when Mum arrives back home from work so we can have a little chat about the day.

  Doing the 'Mungo Walk'. This involves walking around as though my feet are too big for me, and nearly falling over them!

  Waking Mum up at 4am to demand fresh food, and then not eating it, and going back to bed for a cuddle with Mum. This makes Mum think that all I really wanted in the first place was a cuddle.

  Letting Mum call me ridiculous names (her favourites are 'Baby Love', 'Baby Scruff', 'Mr Scrumbles' and 'Mr Flufflebug'). Golly and Mabel always try to wind me up about this, but it's part of my job to let Mum call me whatever she likes.

  Making sure I purr so loudly that Mum has difficulty getting to sleep every night.

My hobbies are:

  Getting lots of beauty sleep so I look absolutely stunning when Mum gets home - all the better for her to appreciate me!

  Playing with Mabel. Apart from Mum she's my best friend and I couldn't be without her.

  Eating lots of lovely food. My favourite is fish, but I also love meat. Occasionally I'll eat the dried food Mum puts down for us to nibble on, but I'd rather have a bowl full of fresh food any day.

  I'm Second-in-Command to Golly as Chief Mouser, so naturally this is one of my greatest skills. Mum told me all about the way Tigger used to go about this, by catching them and putting them in the shoe rack. Mum loves it - she runs about, arms flapping, tells me I'm a very good boy and then catches the little mouse to take it outside so I can find it again.

  Sunbathing - it makes me feel all warm and lovely. Mum says I shouldn't do this in the full sun as I've got pink skin and could get burnt, especially on my ears, so I try to be careful and stay out of the direct sunlight. If I don't, then Mum puts suncream on my ears, and that makes me smell all girlie. Yuk!
