We’d like to introduce Ernie and Norman.

That’s Norman on the left and Ernie on the right. They were born in late June early July 2000, we think to a feral mother. They’d been abandoned under a bush and when their Dadda heard of their plight he immediately adopted them. Ernie was very skittish when she was a tiny baby girl, and Norman was nicknamed ‘spit the cat’ because she’d hiss and spit at anyone who went near her!

You may have noticed that Ernie and Norman are boy’s names, and they are girls. Yes, that’s right - their Dadda thought their names suited them and the names have stuck :)

Although they are twin sisters, Ernie is a much larger cat than Norman, who is the size of a six month old kitten. Norman's toes on her front paws are also webbed, but they do not cause her any pain. Norman is a little homebody who prefers to spend most of her time indoors, whereas Ernie loves to spend time outside. Ernie is a very 'talkative' cat, and when she talks she sounds as though she is singing :) You will often find Ernie singing when she wants a cuddle, or singing for her food, and even singing at the birds!

Ernie and Norman’s hobbies are:

1. Terrorising the neighbourhood dogs, chasing birds, and being spoilt by their Daddy. Norman's greatest achievement was catching a rat and bringing it through the cat flap. Her Daddy only knew something had been brought back because of all the scurrying about he could hear! It took nearly a whole day for him to catch that thing and put it back outside, and he had to have words with Norman and ask her not to bring it back again, and that rat was BIG!
2. Ernie has a fluffy toy cat that she enjoys having a ‘love’ with, and Norman likes to be near her Dadda for plenty of love and attention.
3. Being very fussy girls about what they like to eat! They will only eat certain food, and it just happens to be the more expensive variety
4. Both girls make sure they get plenty of beauty sleep. Ernie can often be found sleeping in the stragest of places - on top of the television or in a box that is too small for her are just two examples. Norman likes to sleep in her radiator bed - very sensible.
